Kochi: The prroduction company of Dileep-starrer ‘Bandra’ with Arun Gopi as the director has approached the court, seeking action against seven YouTubers. Ajith Viinayaka Films approached the Thiruvananthapuram judicial first-class magistrate, levelling review bombing allegations.

The party wants a case to be lodged against YouTubers Aswanth Kok, Shihab, Unni Vlogs, Shaz Mohamed, Arjun, Shijas Talks, and Sai Krishnan. The petition states that negative campaigning by these YouTubers led the production company to incur financial losses after the release of the film.

The petition also demands that the Thiruvananthapuram city commissioner be instructed to take up a case against these YouTubers. The allegation is that false propaganda is carried out against the film to mislead the audience.

Filmmakers say that they lose crores of rupees due to this kind of review bombing. Police are of the opinion that although everyone has the right to express their opinions, this should not amount to deliberate personal attacks and that if such reviewers approach the makers with an aim to extort money, a complaint can be filed.

‘Bandra’ is the next collaboration between Dileep and Arun Gopi after ‘Ramaleela’.  The film consists of a pan-Indian star cast with Sarath Kumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, and  Dino Morea. Siddique, Kalabhavan Shajon, and Ganesh Kumar are also part of this film that is written by Udayakrishna.
