Odia singer Humane Sagar hospitalised; condition critical

Bhubaneswar: Popular Odia playback singer Humane Sagar has been admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar with acute chronic liver failure, and his condition remains critical, the hospital said in an official statement on Saturday.
The 36-year-old singer was brought to the hospital with multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, acute chronic liver failure, and bilateral pneumonia, among other complications, according to the statement.
He is currently critically ill and receiving treatment on non-invasive ventilator support, doctors said.
BJD president and former chief minister Naveen Patnaik expressed concern over Sagar’s condition.
"Pray for his swift and complete recovery. May he return to his family, his music and his people -- renewed, restored, and safe. Get well soon," he said in a post on X.
Humane Sagar rose to fame after winning the second season of a regional singing reality show in 2012 and has since become one of Odisha’s most popular playback voices.
