‘In touch with Elizabeth; Life must go on no matter what,’ says Amrutha Suresh

Singer Amrutha Suresh has once again opened up about her deeply personal struggles, reflecting on the hardships she has faced in her marriage and the impact it has had on her family. Speaking candidly in a vlog alongside her sister Abhirami Suresh on the Amrutam Gamay YouTube channel, Amrutha expressed how her life’s challenges have affected those closest to her, particularly her parents.
The singer described her family’s suffering, stating, “My whole family lost 14 years because of me.” She elaborated that her parents, who did their best to support her, bore the brunt of her struggles, with her mother and father suffering because of decisions she had made. Amrutha spoke about the weight of the past and expressed regret over the impact her actions had on her loved ones, including her father, who passed away during this tumultuous period.
“Because I didn't speak out earlier, and because of the awareness you now have, the things you said, now everyone understands, and my family feels relieved,” Amrutha said. The singer was responding to questions from fans on her divorce. She reflected, “It’s because of my father’s blessings that you all understood us now,” revealing her belief that her father’s spirit still watches over her.
“Humans make mistakes. It’s natural. Everyone has made mistakes in their life, though maybe not as foolish as mine. I still don’t know if I’ve fully overcome the trauma from my marriage. I’ve cried a lot. Being traumatised while raising a daughter isn’t an option. Being a single mom keeps me going. If it weren’t for Pappu, I would have been exhausted, overwhelmed, and in a corner.” Amrutha emphasised that, despite the trauma of her past, she has to keep going—for Pappu’s sake and for her own well-being.
Amrutha also addressed her past relationship with actor Bala, revealing that she remains in touch with his ex-wife, Elizabeth Udayan. The two, who met recently in the hospital, maintain a cordial relationship, according to Amrutha.
