'CULTR has become bigger and better; people have embraced it’

“Culture is like a free space where anybody from any background can come together, irrespective of judgmental ways. Where you love to be a part of something bigger whether it's music, dance, entertainment without worrying about anything,” said Ernakulam Member of Parliament Hibi Eden, summing up the essence of Kappa CULTR.
Kappa CULTR, the hottest music festival in Kerala, is currently underway at Bolgatty Palace in Kochi, Kerala.
Hibi believes Kochi is the ideal location for the event, not just because of its vibrant cultural history but also due to its unique legacy of inclusivity.
The venue for Kappa CULTR holds a special place in history. “This is where Dakshayani Velayudhan, the first science graduate from the Dalit community and a member of the Constituent Assembly, hailed from. She was a part of drafting the Indian Constitution. Hosting a cultural event here adds a deeper meaning to what we are celebrating,” he explained.
Kochi, with its blend of communities and traditions, stands out as a cultural hotspot.
“A small area like Fort Kochi and Mattancherry, spanning just 16 square kilometers, is home to 20 different communities living in harmony. India’s only surviving maritime theatre, Chavittunatakam, is still a vibrant part of our culture. Historically, this city was a global trade hub,” Hibi noted.
The MP stressed the growing popularity of Kappa CULTR, saying, “Every year, this event becomes bigger and better. It shows how much people have embraced it—not just from Kochi, but across Kerala.”
For Hibi, the festival is a perfect example of the unifying power of culture. “I don’t think culture can be stopped; it should only grow. Events like this reflect the spirit of our community,” he said.
Featuring top electronic music artists, Kappa CULTR is designed to make the crowd groove to infectious rhythms.
But it’s not just about music—Kappa CULTR offers an immersive experience with food, fashion, movement, dance, art, and games, making it an event for everyone 'to not miss'. Book your tickets now at thekappa.com.
