Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters begins on Friday

4 Continents, 40 Countries, over 150 Speakers. With the Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters 2018 (MBIFL 2018) set to begin on Friday at the Kanakakunnu Palace in Thiruvananthapuram all eyes are leading here. The preparations are in full swing at the venue. The ambience of the palace adds colour to the already existing vigour and verve. Experiences worth a lifetime are in store in forms of sessions with writers, book launches and music events.
The festival features eminent figures in the literary world in the international, national and Kerala senario confirming a literary treat for everyone.
Set in five venues, MBIFL 2018 will kick start with a keynote address by Scottish historian and writer William Dalrymple on Friday at 10 am at Palace venue. Festival hall, Balabhavan hall, Under the tree and the Bamboo grove are the other venues where the full enthusiasm can be experienced for the next three days.
On the first day, the fest will see sessions on 'The future writing in the world of virtual tours: The challenges ahead', 'Slam poetry', 'Aren't there any more children, but only young adults' and many more. A musical night by folk artist Raghu Dixit is also organised on the same day at the Nishagandhi auditorium in the evening. MBIFL 2018 will conclude on February 4.
