Viral or stupidity? Louis Vuitton’s Rs 4 lakh watering can bag leaves Internet confused

# Lifestyle Desk

Just when you thought handbags could not get any more creative, the latest entry is one that looks exactly like a watering can, and yes, it has gone viral for all the right and wrong reasons.
A Handbag That Looks Straight Out of the Garden

The viral bag in question is designed by Louis Vuitton to resemble a standard watering can. Only this one is not meant for your plants, but for your outfits. Crafted with Louis Vuitton’s signature LV monogram canvas, the piece features a spout, a top handle, and even a detachable leather shoulder strap.

At first glance, it could easily pass off as something you would find in a garden shed. However, it is being marketed as a luxury accessory.

Part of a bigger fashion idea

This unusual design is part of the brand’s Men’s Spring/Summer collection, created under the direction of Pharrell Williams. The collection follows the theme of “nurturing growth,” which perhaps explains the gardening inspiration behind the bag.

Still, while the concept may be artistic, the execution has left many people puzzled.

The price that made everyone pause

The bag is priced at 36,000 yuan in China, which is more than 5,000 dollars. For buyers in India, that translates to roughly Rs 4,35,000.

A smaller version has also been launched, designed as a bag charm or accessory. This mini version is made from resin and decorated with leather flowers. It is priced at 7,750 yuan, which comes to around Rs 90,000.

The Internet has thoughts, many thoughts

Unsurprisingly, social media users have not held back. The design and price have triggered a wave of reactions, most of them leaning towards disbelief and humour.

One user joked that you might as well fill the bag with water instead of money, because buying it would leave you bankrupt anyway.

Another comment questioned the creative direction behind the design, wondering who approved it and asking for it to stop.

“Who did they hire cause please make this stop,” the comment said.

Some reactions were even more blunt, with one user saying that designers seem to have completely lost their minds and that the products being created now go beyond reason.

“The products they are making are beyond stupidity.” said the user.
