Mahesh Babu, one of Telugu cinema’s most recognisable stars, has long been admired for his performances and remarkably youthful appearance. As the actor prepares for SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated global adventure ‘Varanasi’, fresh insights into his disciplined fitness and nutrition routine have surfaced through his long-time trainer Kumar Mannava.

Trainer shares rare insight into actor’s routine

In a recent conversation cited by TOI, Mannava detailed Mahesh Babu’s consistent approach to health and fitness – an approach he maintains throughout the year rather than adopting temporarily for film roles.

“He values his body throughout the year and never skips workouts,” Mannava said, describing the actor’s dedication as “unwavering.”

Mahesh Babu trains five days a week, following a structured split routine that targets different muscle groups each day. Sessions typically last between 60 and 90 minutes and always end with extensive stretching to support mobility and recovery.

A diet built on balance and sustainability

According to Mannava, Mahesh Babu consumes five to six meals a day, including two supplement shakes – a plan designed to ensure steady nutrition without relying on extreme or fad diets.

His day begins with a nutrient-rich breakfast of oats, eggs, nuts and fruits. A post-workout shake follows to replenish energy.

For lunch, the actor chooses lean proteins such as chicken, lamb or fish, paired with brown rice, quinoa or khus khus.

Dinner typically consists of whole-wheat or brown bread accompanied by eggs or chicken, maintaining a clean protein–carbohydrate balance.

This approach, Mannava emphasised, aligns with Mahesh’s long-term goal of prioritising strength, mobility and overall wellness.

Why the actor looks decades younger

At 50, Mahesh Babu’s lean physique, glowing skin and overall youthful presence have sparked admiration across the industry and among fans – a result, his trainer notes, of years of consistent effort rather than short-term transformation bursts.

His lifestyle reflects discipline, structure and an unwavering commitment to health, qualities that continue to set him apart in an industry known for demanding physical change.

What’s next for Mahesh Babu

The actor is gearing up for the release of ‘Varanasi’, directed by SS Rajamouli and also starring Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran. A newly unveiled glimpse of the film suggests an epic-scale fantasy adventure, further heightening anticipation for one of the biggest releases on the horizon.
