Insurance cover for visitors to Bandipur and Nagarhole

Tourists taking up safaris in Bandipur and Nagarhole, the major tiger sanctuaries of Karnataka will get a risk coverage insurance along with the tickets. A premium of Rs 10 will be added to the ticket price for this. Travellers will be covered under the insurance scheme from the time the ticket is purchased.

In addition to tourists, the staff of tiger sanctuaries are also insured. The authorities will pay the premium for the employees. Many people including Malayalis visit Bandipur and Nagarhole. The main attraction in both places is the safari organised by the forest department.

Bandipur and Nagarhole have the largest number of tiger and elephant populations in Karnataka. Hence, they are among the favourite places for nature enthusiasts. Deer, tiger and bison are also abundant while the black panther has also been spotted in recent years.
