Santhosh Echikkanam to receive Padmaprabha Literary Award on Wednesday

Kalpetta: Noted young writer Santhosh Echikkanam will be presented with Padmaprabha Literary Award at Krishna Gowder Hall in Puliyarmala in Wayanad on Wednesday. Writer Kalpetta Narayanan, who won the award last year, will hand it over to Santhosh Echikkanam at the event.
The award distribution ceremony will turn into a confluence of many young writers in Malayalam literature. Writer Subhash Chandran will deliver a commemorative speech on Padmaprabha. Ajay P Mangad and Shahina K Rafeeq also will address the gathering.
Padmaprabha Award distribution ceremony has been the largest cultural-literary festival held in Wayanad for the past many years. The award was instituted by Padmaprabha Foundation in memory of M K Padmaprabha Gowder, one of the pioneers behind the development of Wayanad and former MLA. The award comprising a cash prize of Rs 75,000, a gem-studded plaque and felicitation letter was instituted in 1996.
Mathrubhumi Joint Managing Director M V Shreyams Kumar will preside over the award ceremony. Director M J Vijaya Padman will honour the award winner with a traditional shawl. Managing Editor P V Chandran will deliver the felicitation speech.
Welcome committee chairperson P K Reji will deliver welcome speech and general convenor Sreejith Sivaraman will extend vote of thanks.
