Subhash Chandran to receive Padmaprabha Literary Award today

Kalpetta: Noted short story writer and novelist Subhash Chandran will be presented the Padmaprabha Literary Award, instituted by the Padmaprabha Memorial Trust. The award will be presented by writer Paul Zacharia. Author and orator Sunil P Ilayidom will deliver the memorial speech. 

Mathrubhumi Chairman and Managing Editor PV Chandran will deliver the felicitation speech and the ceremony will be chaired by Mathrubhumi Managing Director and Padmaprabha Memorial Trust Chairman MV Shreyams Kumar. 

The award consists of Rs 75,000 cash prize, a 'gem' (Padmaragam (Ruby)) studded plaque and a citation. The award committee comprised novelist Zacharia, Sarah Joseph, and CV Balakrishnan. 

Subhash Chandran, a two-time recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, is the assistant editor of Mathrubhumi weekly. His notable works include Ghatikarangal Nilakkunna Samayam, Parudeesa Nashtam, Vihitham and Das Capital - Memoirs.
