Single brinjal weighing 810 grams pulls crowd in Palakkad

Nenmara (Palakkad): A brinjal that weighs 810 grams was harvested from the garden in a household here.
The huge brinjal emerged on the plant cultivated in a grow bag at the house of Nenmara Pezhumpara native Jagannivasan.
Jagannivasan received the brinjal seed from Nenmara Krishi Bhavan. He follows organic farming methods only. The giant brinjal is pulling a crowd as a single brinjal weighs around 200-300 grams normally.
Nenmara agriculture officer Varun said that the brinjal belongs to Kashi Utham breed developed by the Indian Institute of Vegetable Research in Varanasi. He added that such heavy produce is normal for the variety.
