The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday declared the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, recommending 958 candidates for appointment to various top government services including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and other Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ Central Services.

According to the official notification, Anuj Agnihotri has secured the All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the examination. The final merit list was released on March 6, 2026, following the completion of the Personality Test (interview) stage of the highly competitive recruitment process conducted annually by the UPSC.

How to check UPSC CSE 2025 final result

Candidates can follow these steps to download the result:

  • Visit the official website of the Union Public Service Commission — upsc.gov.in.
  • Click on the link “UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 Final Result” on the homepage.
  • The merit list will open in PDF format.
  • Use Ctrl+F and enter your roll number or name to search in the list.
  • Download and save the PDF for future reference.

The Civil Services Examination is considered one of the toughest recruitment tests in the country and is conducted in three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Personality Test. The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Main Examination and the interview.

The commission is also expected to release category-wise cut-off marks, mark sheets of candidates, and other examination details on its official website in the coming days.

The candidature of 348 recommended candidates has been kept provisional, the Commission said in a statement.

The Centre had reported 1,087 vacancies to be filled through the civil services examination.

The UPSC has a "facilitation counter" near the examination hall in its campus.

Candidates can obtain any information/clarification regarding their examinations/recruitments on the working days between 10 am to 5 pm in person or over telephone numbers 23385271/23381125/23098543.

"Marks will be available on the website within 15 days from the date of declaration of result," the statement said.
