Pursue your MBA or MCA: Sreenarayanaguru Open University announces new batches

Sreenarayanaguru Open University, Kollam; University Building Kureepuzha, Kollam, Kerala-691601; has invited applications for admission to the two- year (4 Semesters) Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programmes under Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode, (2025-27 batch) (2026 February Session).

There are 100 seats for each Programme. Reservation will be as per the rules in force.

Eligibility MBA/ MCA: Applicant should hold any degree from a university recognised by the UGC.

Selection will be based on the MCA Entrance Examination/MBA Entrance Examination.

The O.M.R-based Entrance Examinations will be of 120 minutes’ duration and will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).

MCA Entrance Examination will have questions from (i) Computer Awareness & Basics of Programming (20 questions), (ii) Mathematics & Quantitative Ability (25 questions), (iii) Logical Reasoning & Analytical Ability (25 questions) (iv) General English / Verbal Ability (25 questions) (v) General Knowledge & Current Affairs (25 questions).

For the MBA Entrance Examination, questions will be from (i) Managerial Aptitude (20 questions), (ii) General Awareness & Business Awareness (25 questions), (iii) Quantitative Aptitude (25 questions), (iv) Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (25 questions), and (v) Logical & Analytical Reasoning (25 questions).

For both, each question carries 1 mark and a negative mark of 0.25 for each incorrect answer. No marks will be awarded or deducted for questions left unanswered. Details are given in the Prospectus at https://lbsapplications.kerala.gov.in/

Applicants may choose from any one of the districts, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam or Kozhikode as the entrance test centre for admission to the MBA /MCA programme. The venue of the Entrance Examination will be intimated to the registered candidates after the closure date. The date of the Entrance Examination will be informed later.

Application fee is Rs. 1000/-. It is Rs. 500/- for SC/ST /PwD candidates (other than Blind or Low Vision). PwD Candidates with a visual disability of 40% and above are exempted from payment of fees as per the rules. The application fee can be remitted online via the application portal.

Learner Support Centres for MBA & MCA: Academic Counselling and other learner support services for the learners are arranged at a Learner Support Centre (LSC) of the University in the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode. Applicants may choose one of the above places according to their convenience at the time of submission of the application. LSC will be finalised depending on the number of candidates enrolled.

Candidates selected based on the Entrance Examination are required to fulfil admission registration, along with the required fee for the first semester in the University Admission Portal and must comply with all UGC-DEB requirements, including creation of ABC-id and DEB-id.
