University of Southampton launches employability programme for Indian students

The University of Southampton has introduced a new employability initiative aimed at helping Indian students succeed in the global job market.
The programme, called Career Advantage, will support students from the point they accept their offer through to up to five years after graduation. It includes tailored career guidance, access to a dedicated careers team in India, and opportunities to develop entrepreneurial and professional skills.
Students will receive pre-departure support, take part in employability training while studying in the UK, and benefit from ongoing career coaching and alumni networks after completing their degrees. The initiative also offers mentoring, internships, volunteering opportunities and job-focused workshops.
The university has also announced compulsory AI training for all students, focusing on skills, ethics and practical use of artificial intelligence.
University officials said the programme is designed to give Indian students a competitive edge and prepare them for both international careers and India’s evolving job market.
