500 children assemble a giant 5-metre jigsaw puzzle in Rajagiri's Asia Book of Records attempt

Kochi: More than 500 children aged between three and six years came together to assemble a giant jigsaw puzzle at Rajagiri Kindergarten, Kalamassery, Kerala on Monday, marking the curtain raiser for the institution's 30th Kids Fest.

Measuring five metres by three metres, the puzzle was assembled through the collective effort of the children, with each contributing a piece. The initiative was undertaken as an attempt to enter the Asia Book of Records.

The event carried the message, “Every Piece Matters, Every Child Matters”, highlighting the importance of every child's individuality and contribution. It also sought to draw attention to children's rights, including their right to protection, education and opportunities to learn, play and develop.

The curtain raiser marks the lead-up to the 30th edition of the Kids Fest, scheduled for November 14, 2026. The annual event provides a platform for children to discover and showcase their talents, while promoting creativity and holistic development.

The institution said the giant puzzle symbolised its commitment to every child and the importance of collective effort.
