Prof M Ram Murty to unpack 'Mathematics Behind ChatGPT' in a free National Mathematics Webinar

Malappuram:The 15th free National Mathematics Webinar, organised by the Maths Aspirants Group, will take place on August 15, from 7 pm to 8.30 pm.
Prof M Ram Murty of Queen’s University, Canada, will deliver a talk on “Mathematics Behind ChatGPT”. The session will be moderated by N P Ajuna. The webinar will examine how ChatGPT operates through fundamental mathematical concepts such as graph theory, linear algebra, vector calculus and the Markov model.
The Maths Aspirants Group is a WhatsApp community of mathematics enthusiasts, researchers and teachers, led by Associate Prof. Dr P Vinod Kumar of the Department of Mathematics, Thunchan College, Tirur.
Prof. Ram Murty earned his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has held postdoctoral fellowships at the Institute for Advanced Study and the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. He previously served as a faculty member at McGill University and has received numerous honours, including Canada’s top mathematics award for graduate supervision and the CRM–Fields–PIMS Award. He has authored over 300 research papers and 15 books.
