Thiruvananthapuram: Plus One classes are all set to start on Wednesday, June 18, across the State.

State-level ‘Praveshanotsavam’ (school opening ceremony) will be inaugurated by the Education Minister of the State, V Sivankutty at Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram.

The Plus One third phase allotment was announced on Sunday. The admission can be confirmed up to Tuesday at 5 pm. A total of 3.12 lakh students were admitted in the main phase. A number of 4,688 seats are remaining. Sports quota will also be carried out in the third allotment.

Those who have been excluded from the main phase for giving wrong information and those who have not got allotment can also renew the application for a supplementary allotment by checking the vacant seats.

High school time change in effect

Meanwhile, the time change in the High School came into effect on Monday. The classes are now scheduled from 9:45 am to 4:15 pm.

For the schools that are functioning from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, an extra quarter-hour is added in the morning and evening. This is to ensure 1100 hours of learning during the academic year.

Seat availability for supplementary allotment to be published on June 28

The seat availability for the Plus One first supplementary allotment will be published on June 28 on the official website of the Higher Secondary Education Portal. Applicants who have not yet received allotment have to check the seat availability and change the option to be considered for the allotment on the website. New applications will also be accepted at this stage.

The admission for the management and community seats will be completed on June 27. The leftover seats from these categories will then be transferred to the general merit. Along with that, the remaining 4,688 seats after the publishing of the third allotment will also be added to this general category. The first allotment will be carried out considering these seats and the vacant seats left out in the quotas where the students have not joined.

A maximum of three supplementary allotments are being considered. Admissions will close on July 27. Those included in the third allotment must join the school before 5 pm on Wednesday. Those who have taken provisional admission in the first allotments must also join the school before 5 pm on Wednesday. Those who joined temporarily in the first allotment have to confirm their seat or else their allotment will be cancelled.

As schools in some districts have been given holidays due to natural calamities, requests were made from various corners to extend the dates of Plus One admission.

However, since the extension of admission will affect the academic days, the decision has been made to proceed as scheduled.
