The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a revised seat matrix for NEET PG 2025, updating the total number of postgraduate medical seats available for counselling in the 2025-26 academic year. The latest revision shows a total of 28,663 seats across MD, MS, PG Diploma, and DNB courses, slightly reduced from the earlier count of 28,760 due to the withdrawal of 103 seats and the addition of 6 new seats from private hospitals.

This updated seat matrix applies to all India quota (AIQ) seats and seats across government colleges, deemed universities, central universities, and Armed Forces Medical Services institutions. The withdrawal includes 49 MD/MS seats and 54 DNB seats as confirmed by MCC based on inputs from participating medical institutes. The revision ensures candidates have the most accurate and current data for the NEET PG counselling process, supporting transparency and uniformity across states and union territories.

The ongoing NEET PG 2025 Round 1 counselling schedule has seen the registration and choice-filling window active until November 5, 2025. The first allotment results will be announced on November 8, with candidates advised to complete their admission formalities promptly. The counselling process enables aspirants to apply for postgraduate medical education in top government and private medical institutions nationwide.

Aspiring doctors preparing for NEET PG 2025 counselling should closely monitor the official MCC website for real-time updates on the seat matrix, counselling timeline, and seat allotment results. This revision represents a crucial update for medical graduates aiming to secure postgraduate seats this academic year.
