‘She had performed well in first one,’ says family after daughter’s suicide days before NEET re-exam

Lucknow: A 17-year-old NEET aspirant was allegedly found dead at her home in a suspected case of suicide, police said on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Suhani Yadav, was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her residence on Tuesday, just days before the scheduled NEET re-examination on June 21. Police said no suicide note was recovered.
Station House Officer Brijesh Singh of Bazar Khala police station said family members told police that Suhani had performed well in the NEET-UG examination held on May 3 and was hopeful of securing a medical seat. However, after the exam was later cancelled, she reportedly became distressed.
"She was in a state of depression for two to four days, after which she again started preparing for the examination. Family members also said that she was under pressure due to the examination," Singh said.
