New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has rejected claims made by Class 12 student Vedant Shrivastava regarding alleged irregularities in his revaluation results, describing his statements as "factually incorrect" and a "blatant lie".

In an official statement, the board said Shrivastava had claimed in a social media post that his marks increased by only one mark in two subjects and that there had been no change to his Physics score following re-evaluation.

However, CBSE said the claim was inaccurate.

"After re-evaluation, his Physics marks actually increased by nine marks," the board said, adding that his social media assertions did not reflect the revised results.

The board also provided an update on the revaluation process, stating that 99.7 per cent of all Class 12 revaluation applications submitted after the declaration of results have now been processed.

Responding to the CBSE's clarification, Shrivastava maintained that the nine additional marks in Physics were not awarded through the re-evaluation process but were his original marks that had allegedly been denied because his answer sheet had been exchanged. In a post on X, he wrote: "Hello @cbseindia29, the 9 marks increase in Physics that you are talking about did not get increased through the process of re-evaluation, they are my true marks which you guys don't gave me earlier because you exchanged my answer sheet, and 2 marks were increased — 1 mark each in CS and Maths."

According to CBSE, the remaining applications are in the final stages of review and their results will be announced shortly.

The board noted that the declaration of revaluation results for 2025 began on June 27 and was completed on July 11.

Shrivastava first drew national attention in May after posting on X that his original Physics answer sheet had allegedly been swapped with that of another student, triggering widespread debate online over the evaluation of CBSE Class 12 examination papers.

Earlier, on June 21, CBSE had announced the phased release of verification and re-evaluation results, saying that more than 87 per cent of applications had already been processed.

In a post on X, the board assured students that the remaining results would be released in phases.

"Dearest students, CBSE has commenced the release of Class XII Verification of issues observed and Re-evaluation outcomes. The outcomes are being released in a phased manner, with over 87% of the total applications received being declared today. The outcomes of the remaining applications will be made available in phases, and the entire process is expected to be completed soon," the board had said.
