CBSE warns teachers: Social media posts on exam evaluation may invite disciplinary action

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a strict advisory to teachers involved in Class 10 and Class 12 board exam evaluation, warning them against sharing misleading information about the answer sheet checking process on social media.

In a circular dated March 16, the board directed school principals to ensure that evaluators do not publicly discuss the CBSE board exam evaluation process, stressing that the marking of answer scripts is confidential and governed by strict examination protocols.

The warning follows reports that some teachers were posting personal opinions and experiences related to the answer script evaluation online, which could create confusion and spread rumours among CBSE students, parents and other stakeholders.

According to the advisory, teachers are prohibited from sharing misleading information, personal views or experiences related to CBSE answer sheet evaluation on social media or other public platforms.

The board said any attempt to misrepresent facts or circulate rumours about the CBSE board exam marking process would be considered a violation of professional conduct and could lead to disciplinary action against teachers.

CBSE has asked school principals to inform all teachers involved in the Class 10 and Class 12 board exam evaluation process to maintain professional integrity, confidentiality and responsible conduct.

Indian Embassy in Riyadh interacts with CBSE school principals

Meanwhile, Abu Mathen George held a virtual meeting with principals of CBSE-affiliated schools in Saudi Arabia to discuss issues related to the ongoing CBSE board examinations.

The interaction, which also included Vipul Bawa, addressed queries from school administrators and provided updates on the regional situation and support measures for the Indian community.

CBSE cancels Class 12 exams in West Asia

In a related development, the CBSE has cancelled Class 12 board examinations in several West Asian countries due to the deteriorating regional situation.

The cancelled exams were scheduled between March 16 and April 10 for CBSE students studying in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The board also confirmed that previously postponed examinations in these countries have now been cancelled.

CBSE said the decision was taken to ensure the safety and security of students while maintaining the integrity of the board examination process.
