CBSE Board Exam 2025: Class 10, 12 practical exam dates announced, details inside

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the dates for the practical exams of classes 10 and 12 for the 2025 board exams. According to the notification, practical exams for classes 10 and 12 will begin on January 1, 2025.
In addition, the theoretical exams for CBSE classes 10 and 12 will begin on February 15, 2025.
The official notice states, "The Practical Examinations/ IA for class X and XIl and the Board's Annual Theory Examinations are scheduled to start w.e.f. 01/01/2025 and 15/02/2025 respectively".

To facilitate the smooth organisation of practical, project, and internal assessments, along with the theoretical exams, the CBSE has attached a list of subjects for both classes 10 and 12 in the circular. This list includes essential details such as:

Subject name
Maximum marks in the theoretical exam
Maximum marks in the practical exam
Maximum marks project assessment
Maximum marks internal assessment
Whether an external examiner will be appointed for practical or project assessment
Whether a practical answer-book will be provided by the board
Type of answer book that can be used in theoretical exam
The board has also stated in the notice that the maximum marks for each subject are 100, with the distribution between theory, practical, project, and internal assessment components as detailed in the list.
For CBSE winter-bound schools, the practical exams will be held between November 5 and December 5, 2024. CBSE has also issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines to ensure the proper conduct of practical exams, project work, and internal assessments in these schools, which will be closed in January 2025.
