NIC invites applications for Digital India Internship 2025: Here’s how to apply

National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTy); has invited applications for the Digital India Internship Scheme of NIC, Summer 2025 Batch. 

This is an initiative under MeiTy which provides an opportunity for Indian students from recognized universities in India to secure first hand and practical work experience under the guidance of a qualified and experienced Supervisor/Mentor. It also aims at active participation in the learning process through experimentation and putting into practice the knowledge acquired in the classrooms.

The minimum duration of internship shall be two months, extendable up to three months, depending on the performance of the candidate, requirement of the Ministry. Internship period will be from 2^nd June to 31^st July 2025.

NIC would be selecting 20 Students on the basis of Merit in the areas as per the requirement. The internship will be offered at NIC, Headquarters, New Delhi and at various NIC State Centres. 

Broad Area of Internship: Block Chain Technology; Cloud Computing; Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning; Micro Services; Data Analytics; Angular/REACT; PHP Programming; DevOps; Chatbot; Internet of Things (IoT); Cyber Security; Quantum Computing and Cryptography; Mobile App Development; Open APIs; User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX); Networking; .NET Programming; Java Programming; Node.js; GIS Technologies. 

Eligibility: Indian students from recognized universities in India who have secured at least 60% marks in the last held degree or certificate examination and pursuing (i) B.E/B.Tech 3^rd year (ii) B.E/B.Tech (lateral) 3^rd year (iii) M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc(CS)/M.Sc(IT) 1^st year (iv) MCA 2^nd year (v) Dual Degree Courses(ME/M.Tech) 4^th year (vi) DoEACC ‘B’ level Diploma/Graduation/DoEACC ‘A’ leve; are eligible.

Those having exposure in the area of intended internship with good academic background and having higher qualification, based on need shall be given preference.

Students in the last semester or who will pass out in summer 2025 will not be eligible for the Internship.

Application: Application can be submitted online at https://dii.nic.in latest by 30.4.2025. The Students needs to get Recommendation Letter forwarded by the Institution on the Letter Head of the Institute. The Students need to (i) upload certificates of completed degrees and last result available (ii) submit a write-up not less than 100 words and not more than 250 words under the subject `Statement of Purpose’ bringing out the purpose/benefits of the scheme (iii) select maximum two choices of interest (iv) submit a self-declaration for conversion formula of CGPA into percentage with attestation from their educational institution. 

The Interns will be shortlisted and selected by the respective Groups/Divisions for their concerned domain. For selection of interns, personal or Skype Interview, may be conducted, if deemed necessary.
