National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Entrance Examination on February 5

National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited applications for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Entrance Examination for admission to Bachelor’s and Master’s Programmes (Regular, NIFT Lateral Entry Admissions, Artisans) programs at the Institute for 2024-25. 

For admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) Programmes in Fashion Design/Leather Design/Accessory Design/Textile Design /Knitwear Design/Fashion Communication, applicant should have passed a recognised Plus 2 level examination/equivalent or should have a pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

For admission to Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F. Tech) Programme, applicant should have passed a recognised Plus 2 level examination/equivalent with Physics and Mathematics or should have a pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics and Mathematics.

Educational Qualification for admission to Master of Design (M.Des), Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M) and of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech) are given in the Prospectus 2024 available at https://www.nift.ac.in/admission 

Age limit: For Bachelor’s Programmes (B.Des & B.F.Tech), the upper age limit is 24 years as on 1.8.2024 (Relaxed by five years for candidates of SC/ST/PWD categories). For Master’s Programmes (M.Des, M.F.M and M.F.Tech), there is no age limit.

Selection to the Programs will be based on Entrance Examinations to be held on 5th February, 2024 (Monday). 

For admission to B.Des there will be a General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT). Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the entrance examination will take a Situation Test. For admission to B.F.Tech, candidates have to appear for General Ability Test (GAT).

GAT will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) while CAT will be a Paper Based Test (PBT).

Application: Application can be submitted online at https://exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT/ or through https://www.nift.ac.in/admission latest by 3.1.2024. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. 

Application Fee is Rs. 3000/- (Rs. 1500/- for SC/ ST/ PWD Category). Those applying for B.Des and B.F.Tech have to pay a fee of Rs. 4500/-/ Rs. 2250/- respectively. The fee can be paid online through payment gateway, using debit/credit cards or internet banking. 

Application can be submitted with late fees of Rs. 5000/- in addition to the Normal fee, from 04.01.2024 to 08.01.2024.

Correction can be made in the Particulars of Application Form online, during 10.01.2024 to 12.01.2024.
