Madras School of Economics invites applications for Integrated MA Economics Programme: Apply today

Madras School of Economics, recognized as Institution of Special Importance by the Government of Tamil Nadu; Gandhi Mandapam Road, Behind Government Data Center, Kotturpuram, Chennai, Tamil Nadu-600 025, has invited applications for admission to the 5-year Integrated MA in Economics.

There is exit option in 3rd year with BA (Honors) and 4th year with BA (Honors with Research) awarded by the Madras School of Economics.

Eligibility: Applicant should have a pass in 10+2 examination in any subject combination in the first attempt of final year exams in the Academic year 2025 securing 65% marks (60% for OBC – Non Creamy Layer; 50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates)/ equivalent grades or credits. Applicant should have studied Mathematics (Standard/Applied/Business) at the 10+2 level.

Those who are appearing for their 10+2 exams in May 2025 can also apply

Applicant should not have completed 22 years of age as on 1st July 2025.

Number of Seats: The number of seats is 80, including a 35% quota for the ‘resident student of Tamil Nadu’.

Selection: Admission will be based on the entrance test to be held on 31st May 2025 at designated centres in India, subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criteria. In the case of tie-in entrance test marks, merit ranking will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and age. The Reservation Policy of the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Central Government will be followed in admissions.

Application: Application can be submitted online at https://www.mse.ac.in/ latest by 11th May 2025 (through Admission link). The Program Brochure, Syllabus and sample questions of the Entrance Test are given here. Application fee is Rs. 1200/- (Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST category)

Admit Cards for the entrance test can be downloaded from 19th May 2025.

Result will be declared/Score Card can be downloaded during 17-18th June 2025.

Merit List releasing/Counseling will be between 26th June - 4th July 2025.

Document Verification & Orientation at MSE will be during 11th -14th July 2025.

Classes commence on 15th July 2025.
