IIST Astronomy and Astrophysics School 2024

The Department of Earth & Space Sciences, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, has announced the annual Astronomy and Astrophysics School 2024 to be held from July 1 - 10, 2024. 

The school is meant to acquaint students with the basics of Astrophysics. 

The lectures will be at a fundamental level with introductions to more advanced topics. 

Eligibility: Students from any one of the following backgrounds are eligible to apply for the school: (i) M Sc Physics - completed first year and moving to second year (ii) Integrated MS (Physics) - completed fourth year and moving to final year (iii) B.Tech (Engineering Physics) - completed third year and moving to final year.

Registration: Those interested, should complete the online registration, at the link given at https://www.iist.ac.in/iaas2024 before May 20, 2024. 

The selected participants for the school will be intimated through email by the first week of June. 

Registration Fee: The selected participants will have to pay a registration fee of Rs. 1000/- when reporting to the IIST campus for the school.
