Applications invited for post graduate diploma courses at National Power Training Institute

National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Ministry of Power, Government of India with Corporate Office at NPTI Complex, Sector-33 Faridabad, Haryana -121003; has invited applications for admission to various Post Graduate Diploma Courses (PGDC) at Faridabad and other centres of NPTI.

The other centres are located at Durgapur (WB), Badarpur (New Delhi); Nagpur (Maharashtra); Nangal (Punjab); Cherthala (Kerala); Neyveli (Tamil Nadu); Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh); Bengaluru (Karnataka); Guwahati (Assam). The PGDC Programs offered, duration and the eligibility for each are as follows:

*Power Plant Engineering (1 year): B.Tech. / B.E. or its equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical /Electrical & Electronics / C & I / Power Engineering and related branches. The course covers operation and maintenance of Power Plants.

* Renewable Energy & Grid Interface Technologies (1 year): B.Tech. / B.E. or its equivalent in Electrical /Electrical & Electronics / C&I / Mechanical / Power Engineering /Computer Science/ Electronics & Communication/ IT and related branches. The course aims to equip the students with technologies, economics and policy involving energy systems and supply with Renewable Energy sources.

* Power Distribution & Emerging Technologies (1 year): B.Tech. / B.E. or its equivalent in any branch. The course covers Basic Electrical, Power Generation-Thermal, Hydro, Nuclear & Gas, Distribution Lines, Substation, Transformer, Metering, AMI, Cabling, Communication, Protection, O&M, Cyber Security & Emerging Technologies, Renewable Energy Sources, Transmission, Safety & Regulations, Contract Management, Soft Skills etc. with 6 months paid internship at BSES.

* Hydro Power Plant Engineering (9 months): B.Tech. / B.E. or its equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics/Power Engineering. The course covers all aspects of Hydro Power Plant Engineering.

* Transmission & Distribution Systems (6 months): B.Tech. / B.E. or its equivalent in Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics/ Power Engineering. The course covers all aspects of Power Transmission and Distribution Systems.

Applicant should have minimum 60% marks in B.E./B.Tech. and minimum 60% marks in 10th and 12th classes.

Applicants must submit their final degree/provisional degree certificate at the time of Counseling/Reporting.

There is no age limit for admission to PGDC courses.

The availability of Programs at different centres and the seats for them are given in the Prospectus.

A common merit list of eligible candidates will be prepared by NPTI, Faridabad on the basis of the percentage marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree and interview to be conducted by NPTI with weightage of 80% and 20% respectively. Interview will be conducted through Telephone/conferencing App/online platforms. Detailed information will be displayed at the website in due course of time.

Shortlisted candidates will be offered admission to the PGDC programs through counseling. Counselling may be conducted by NPTI, Faridabad by connecting the candidates through calling/video calling/conferencing. Candidates may deposit the admission fee/counselling fee through SBI Collect to NPTI. The physical presence of the candidates may be relaxed for attending the counselling. Counseling schedule and details will be displayed at the website. All candidates should check the website frequently for any updates. No individual communication shall be entertained.

Allocation of course in desired Institute will be done on the basis of Merit List subject to availability of seats at institute at the time of respective Counseling.

After the counselling, candidates may submit the hard copies of the necessary documents/certificates for verification and undertakings at the respective institutes while joining/reporting for the course.

Application: Application can be submitted at https://www.npti.gov.in/en latest by 21.7.2025. Registration fee is Rs.500/-.

The Merit List will be displayed on the website by evening on 25.7.2025.

Counseling will be on 29.7.2025 & 30.7.2025.

Those admitted have to report on 4.8.2025. Classes commence on 4.8.2025.

Spot admission by Counseling for vacant seats if any will be held on 22.08.2025.
