Admissions to Master of Design at NID for 2024: Apply by December 1
National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, has invited applications for admission to the Master of Design (M.Des) programmes of two and a half years duration in various specializations at Ahmedabad and extension campuses at Bengaluru and Gandhinagar.
The campuses and Programmes are as follows:
Ahmedabad: Animation Film Design, Film & Video Communication, Graphic Design, Ceramic & Glass Design, Furniture &Interior Design, Product Design, Textile Design
Gandhinagar: Photography Design, Toy & Game Design, Transportation & Automobile Design, New Media Design, Strategic Design Management, Apparel Design, Lifestyle Accessory Design
Bengaluru: Universal Design, Digital Game Design, Information Design, Interaction Design, Design for Retail Experience
Eligibility: Applicant should have been born on or after 1.7.1992. Those belonging to OBC-NCL, SC & ST categories, born on or after 1st July 1989, and PwD category born on or after 1st July 1987 are also eligible.
Applicant must possess at least one of the following minimum qualification obtained after 12th standard (i) Bachelor degree of minimum 4-year duration in any specialization (ii) Bachelor degree of minimum 3-year duration in any specialization (iii) Full-time Diploma of minimum 4-year duration in Design/Fine Arts/Applied Arts/ Architecture
Applicants should have appeared for/completed the eligibility qualification by the cut off date specified for each in the ‘Admissions 2024-25 Handbook’ available at https://admissions.nid.edu/
Selection: Selection will be based on Design Aptitude Tests (DAT) to be conducted in two stages- DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. DAT (Prelims) will be conducted on 24.12.2023 (Sunday) at Centres across the country.
Based on scores in DAT (Prelims), applicants will be shortlisted for DAT mains.
DAT Mains will be held between 3rd March 2024 and 6th April 2024.

Application: Applications can be submitted online at https://admissions.nid.edu/ latest by 4 pm on 1.12.2023 (Friday). One can apply to a maximum of two disciplines.
Application fee is Rs.3000/- (Rs.1500/- for SC/ST/PwD) for applying for one specialization and Rs.6000/-/Rs.3000/- for applying for 2 specializations, which may be paid online. Application can be submitted after this time point latest by 4 pm on 3.12.2023 (Sunday), on payment of late fee. The total fee to be paid in this period will be Rs.4500/-/Rs.2250/- (for 1 discipline) or Rs.9000/-/Rs.4500/- (for 2 disciplines) respectively.
