Xiaomi has launched its latest tablet, the REDMI Pad 2 Pro, featuring a large 12.1-inch 120Hz display and Google Gemini AI assistant for enhanced productivity. The new device also packs a massive 12,000mAh battery, promising long-lasting performance for work and entertainment.

REDMI Pad 2 Pro price and variants

The REDMI Pad 2 Pro comes in three variants. The 6GB + 128GB model is priced at EUR 299.90 (approximately ₹31,000), while the 8GB + 256GB Matte Glass version costs EUR 379.90 (approximately ₹40,000).

A 5G-enabled model is also available at EUR 379.9 (approx. ₹40,000). Accessories include the REDMI Keyboard at EUR 99.9 (approx. ₹10,000) and the REDMI Smart Pen at EUR 69.9 (approx. ₹7,000).

REDMI Pad 2 Pro display

The tablet boasts a 12.1-inch 2.5K crystal-clear display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smooth visuals. It features a 2560 x 1600 resolution panel with a pixel density of 249 ppi. It offers up to 600 nits brightness (HBM) and a 360Hz touch sampling rate, ensuring an enhanced experience for gaming, drawing, or productivity tasks, especially when paired with the Smart Pen.

REDMI Pad 2 Pro performance

Powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Mobile Platform built on a 4nm process, the device includes the Adreno 810 GPU for improved graphics. Users can choose between 6GB + 128GB or 8GB + 256GB configurations, with support for up to 2TB expandable storage. Running on Xiaomi HyperOS 2, it integrates Google Gemini AI features to assist with productivity and multitasking.

The REDMI Pad 2 Pro is equipped with an 8MP rear camera featuring an f/2 aperture capable of recording videos in 1080p at 30fps and 720p at 30fps. It supports multiple modes, including Photo, Video, Document, Teleprompter, and HDR, making it versatile for different use cases. On the front, the tablet houses an 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.28 aperture supporting 1080p and 720p video recording at 30fps, ideal for video calls and online meetings.

A highlight of the device is its 12,000mAh battery, which supports 33W fast charging via USB-C. This large capacity ensures all-day usage for streaming, gaming, or work without frequent recharging.

Other features of REDMI Pad 2 Pro

The tablet offers Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and a four-speaker Dolby Atmos audio system for immersive sound. It also includes multiple sensors such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, colour temperature sensor and electronic compass, enhancing usability.

Available in Lavender Purple, Silver, and Graphite Grey, the tablet is slim at 7.5mm thickness and weighs 610g, making it portable despite its large display.

Xiaomi has also introduced two accessories for the REDMI Pad 2 Pro: the REDMI Pad 2 Pro Cover and the REDMI Pad 2 Pro Keyboard, designed to enhance both protection and productivity.

The REDMI Pad 2 Pro Cover combines style and function: its exterior is wrapped in textured PU material for improved grip and durability, while the interior features a soft, skin-friendly PU lining that gently protects the display. It offers precise cutouts for ports and buttons, an independent pen holder, and a tri-fold magnetic stand that lets you prop the tablet in viewing positions. Smart screen wake/sleep functionality is integrated—opening the cover wakes the screen, closing it puts the tablet to sleep.

The REDMI Pad 2 Pro Keyboard doubles as both a full-function keyboard and a protective case: when unfolded, it offers a PC-style typing experience, and when folded, it shields the tablet. It features a 64-key US layout (or 65-key UK layout) with long key travel (1.3 mm), concave keycaps, large key spacing (19 mm), and built-in shortcut support for enhanced productivity. In terms of power, it houses a 220 mAh battery that promises up to 65 hours of continuous use and 960 hours of standby, reducing frequent charging hassles.
