Vivo India is set to unveil its latest mid-premium smartphone contenders, the Vivo V70 and the Vivo V70 Elite 5G, in a marquee digital event scheduled for 12:00 PM IST today.
The launch marks a strategic rebranding for the company, as the "Elite" moniker replaces the previous "Pro" designation to signify a more significant technological leap in the V-series lineup.
Pricing and Market Position
The V70 series is positioned to dominate the sub-₹60,000 segment, with leaked retail listings suggesting an aggressive pricing strategy to undercut rivals.
- Vivo V70: Expected to start at ₹45,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant.
- Vivo V70 Elite: Expected to carry a launch price of ₹51,999 for the base model, climbing to ₹61,999 for the 512GB flagship storage option.
- Availability: The devices will be available via Flipkart, Amazon, and the Vivo e-store, with open sales likely commencing within the final week of February.
Hardware: Narrowest Bezels and "BlueVolt" Power
Vivo is heavily marketing the "Golden Grip" design of the series, featuring 1.25mm ultra-slim bezels, the thinnest in the segment, on a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display.
- Performance: The V70 Elite is confirmed to run on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, while the standard V70 will utilize the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.
- Battery: Both models house a massive 6,500mAh BlueVolt battery. Despite the high capacity, the phones support 90W FlashCharge, promising 40 hours of video playback on a single charge.
- Durability: In a first for the series, both devices feature IP68 and IP69 ratings, providing resistance to high-temperature and high-pressure water jets.
Professional Grade ZEISS Optics
The partnership with ZEISS reaches a new milestone with the introduction of "Night Telephoto" capabilities.
- Main Sensor: 50MP ZEISS OIS Main Camera (Sony IMX766 on standard, flagship-grade on Elite).
- Telephoto: 50MP Night Telephoto lens with 3x optical and 100x digital zoom.
- Selfie: 50MP Wide-Angle front camera with a 92-degree field of view.
- Festive AI: Exclusive to the Indian market, the devices debut an AI Holi Portrait mode, a time-limited software experience available through March 15 to celebrate the upcoming festival.
