Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi 15 5G will launch in India on August 19, boasting what it describes as the largest battery in its segment — a substantial 7,000 mAhA unit — along with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset and Xiaomi’s custom HyperOS 2 software.

The brand is promoting the handset’s battery credentials heavily, calling it a segment-first flagship-grade silicon-carbon battery with support for 18W reverse charging. According to Xiaomi, the phone is capable of offering up to 13.5 hours of standby time on just 1% battery when placed in hibernation mode.

Xiaomi also claims that despite its large battery, the Redmi 15 5G is the slimmest phone in its class. It will be available in three colour options — Midnight Black, Frosted White, and Sandy Purple.

As for the display, the device features a 17.53 cm (6.9-inch) screen, touted as the largest in the category, and offers a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The company also claims it’s the most eye-friendly display in its segment, presumably owing to lower blue light emission or other safety certifications.

Camera capabilities include a 50MP dual AI rear camera setup, which should cover everyday photography needs.

Battery life claims suggest heavy endurance: Xiaomi says the phone can deliver up to 55.6 hours of Spotify music streaming, 23.5 hours of YouTube video playback, 17.5 hours on Instagram Reels, and 12.75 hours of BGMI gaming.

Though official pricing is yet to be revealed, industry estimates suggest the Redmi 15 5G may be priced around ₹15,000, based on comparisons with the earlier Redmi 13 launch.

The announcement follows the recent launch of the Redmi Note 14 SE 5G in India — a more budget-friendly variant of the standard Redmi Note 14, available in a new Crimson finish, with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, priced at ₹14,999.
