Xiaomi is all set to launch its latest smartphone, the Redmi 15 5G, in India on August 19, 2025. The device has already made headlines for packing a massive 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, the largest in its segment, while still being billed as the slimmest phone in its class.

The launch will be livestreamed on Xiaomi’s YouTube and social platforms. Though the official price will be revealed during the event, industry insiders expect it to be around ₹15,000, similar to the Redmi 13 series.

Massive 7,000mAh Battery

The highlight of the Redmi 15 5G is its 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. Xiaomi claims it is a flagship-grade innovation, promising 80% battery health even after four years of use.

In terms of performance, the phone reportedly delivers:

  • 55.6 hours of music streaming
  • 23.5 hours of YouTube video
  • 17.5 hours on Instagram Reels
  • 12.75 hours of BGMI gaming

The phone also supports 18W reverse charging, allowing it to charge other devices.

Sleek Design and Display

Despite the large battery, Xiaomi says the Redmi 15 5G is the slimmest in its segment. It comes in Midnight Black, Frost White, and Sandy Purple, with a glass-like finish and aerospace-grade camera housing.

The device features a 6.9-inch display with up to 144Hz refresh rate. The screen also supports Wet Touch Technology 2.0 and is certified for reduced blue light emissions, making it safer for prolonged use

Performance, Camera and Software

The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset. It is expected to come with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

On the software front, the device runs Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15, promising smoother animations, faster performance, and AI-powered features like Circle to Search

The dual AI rear camera system includes a 50MP primary sensor, while the front features an 8MP selfie shooter. Redmi 15 5G will compete with rivals such as the Realme Narzo 70 Pro, iQOO Neo 7, Samsung Galaxy M15 5G, and Motorola G85.

With its unique combination of a massive battery, slim design, and large display, Xiaomi is positioning the Redmi 15 5G as a device for heavy users who need endurance without compromising on style.
