Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) is back online after a 24-hour outage that left gamers worldwide frustrated, the company confirmed on Saturday.

"PlayStation Network has been restored. You should be able to access online features without any problems now," Sony announced on X around midnight GMT Sunday. The company had earlier acknowledged that users were facing "difficulty launching games, apps, or network features." However, no details were provided on the cause of the disruption.

The outage impacted online multiplayer games such as Fortnite and Call of Duty, leaving PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners unable to access their favorite titles.

According to DownDetector.com, reports of connectivity issues spiked around 7:00 pm US Eastern time on Friday (midnight GMT Saturday) before gradually declining, though some users still faced problems.

Frustrated players took to social media to voice their complaints. One user called it "criminal" for PSN to go down on a Friday night, while another jokingly remarked that the outage gave him time to reconnect with his wife after five years.

Sony apologized for the inconvenience but has yet to disclose what caused the disruption.
