American tech company Apple has privacy protocols across its products and services. The company even launched a campaign called 'Privacy' in 2019. But developer Jeff Johnson says that the iPhones we use are not as private as we think.

Jeff Johnson says that a feature called Enhanced Visual Search has been enabled on iPhones running iOS 18 and Macs running macOS Sequoia. This system is enabled by default. Through this, Apple can get data from the photos on your phone. This was tested on iPhone 15. He also said that he found that Enhanced Visual Search was enabled there.

Once activated, this feature will help you get more information about landmarks by identifying them and providing contextual details. In short, the company will say that Apple does not have full access to your images. But it means that it scans all the images in your gallery through Enhanced Visual Search.

This action is in direct violation of the privacy policy stated above. However, Apple has not responded to this in this regard.

If you want, you can turn off Enhanced Visual Search from your phone. To do this, go to the settings on your phone. There, select the Photos app from the Apps section. Then select Enhanced Visual Search at the bottom of this tab and turn it off.
