New Delhi: Google has officially launched the Pixel 10a in India, positioning it as a premium mid-range smartphone that brings expanded durability, long-term software support, and a suite of Google’s AI-driven experiences to more users.

The phone goes up for pre-order today and will be available for sale from March 6, 202,6 through Flipkart and the Google Store.

Priced at ₹49,999, the Pixel 10a matches the launch price of its predecessor, the Pixel 9a, while retaining a similar core hardware platform, including the Google Tensor G4 chipset, but adds refinements in build quality, display performance, battery endurance and software longevity.

Design and display upgrades

The Pixel 10a retains the clean, minimalist design language of the A-series, with a textured matte back and a satin-finish metal frame.

A notable change from last year’s model is the elimination of the slight camera module lip, resulting in a completely flat rear surface that enhances its premium feel. The phone is offered in four colour options: Lavender, Berry, Fog, and Obsidian.

At the front, it sports a 6.3-inch Actua pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits, making it one of the brightest screens in the A-series lineup.

The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and brings vivid colours and smooth animations to everyday use.

Performance and software

Powering the device is Google’s Tensor G4 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage, the same configuration as last year’s Pixel 9a. While the choice of Tensor G4 might not deliver a significant performance uplift, Google’s emphasis on AI optimisation and software experience remains central. The Pixel 10a runs Android 16 out of the box and is backed by seven years of OS and security updates, promising support well into 2030 — a standout in the segment.

Cameras and AI photography

Photography continues to be a strength of the Pixel line. The Pixel 10a retains the dual rear camera setup, featuring a 48MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation and a 13MP ultra-wide lens, along with a 13MP selfie camera.

Google has introduced Camera Coach, an AI-powered tool that offers real-time composition tips and guidance to help users capture better shots. Other features like Auto Best Take help nail group photos by automatically selecting the best frame.

Battery, charging and connectivity

The device houses a 5,100mAh battery with 30W wired and 10W wireless charging support. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6, NFC, and standard GPS services. The handset also carries an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, reaffirming Google’s focus on durability.

Offers and availability

In India, early buyers can take advantage of launch incentives, including ₹3,000 cashback on select HDFC Bank cards, up to 24-month no-cost EMIs, and a ₹3,000 exchange bonus. The handset is also part of Google’s Pixel Upgrade Programme, enabling flexible payment plans and upgrade options.
