Better than iPhone 16? Google Pixel 10 leak hints at new AI features and camera upgrades

Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 series has been indirectly confirmed through a recent discovery in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code review. A mention of the device appeared in a discussion about a new “performance mode” for the Parallel Module Loading system, which is expected to improve boot times by 30%.
Leaked renders suggest that Google will introduce three models:
Pixel 10 (6.3-inch)
-
Pixel 10 Pro (6.3-inch)
Pixel 10 Pro XL (6.8-inch)
Despite speculation about design changes, the signature camera bar appears to remain intact, even though it was removed from the Pixel 9a. However, one major upgrade is the addition of a triple-camera system on the base Pixel 10—a first for the standard model. Reports suggest this could include a main sensor, telephoto lens, and periscope zoom.
The Pixel 10 series is also expected to run on the Tensor G5 chip, built on TSMC’s 3nm process, a shift from Samsung’s 4nm Tensor G4. While this upgrade should improve performance and efficiency, early reports indicate that the raw processing power may not be significantly different from its predecessor.
Advanced AI Features
Google is set to expand its AI-powered capabilities with the Pixel 10 series. One of the standout features is "Video Generative ML," an AI-powered video editing tool for Google Photos. Additional AI enhancements include "Speak-to-Tweak" for photo adjustments and Sketch-to-Image, which works similarly to Samsung’s Galaxy AI. The Pixel 10 may also introduce Pixel Sense, an AI assistant designed for personalized user experiences.
Launch Timeline
The Pixel 10 series is expected to be announced in August 2025 at the earliest. With Google's history of integrating cutting-edge AI features, the Pixel 10 lineup is shaping up to be a strong contender in the premium Android smartphone market.
