Budget king! Redmi 15A launched in India with 6,300mAh battery, 120Hz display

Redmi has expanded its budget smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the new Redmi 15A, introducing an ‘A’ suffix instead of the usual ‘C’ branding in the series. The device focuses on delivering a large battery, smooth display, AI-backed features, and long-term software support.
The Redmi 15A features a 6.9-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a smoother viewing experience. The design includes a flat frame, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a rectangular rear camera module. The smartphone also comes with an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance.
In terms of optics, the device is equipped with a 32MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera for selfies. It supports portrait mode along with AI-powered camera features.
Under the hood, the Redmi 15A is powered by the Unisoc T8300 octa-core processor, paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The smartphone packs a 6,300mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging and 7.5W reverse wired charging, allowing users to charge other accessories.
On the software front, the device runs HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16 out of the box. Redmi has promised four years of OS updates and six years of security patches, adding long-term value. It also comes with features like Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
The Redmi 15A is priced at Rs 12,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant. The 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB models are priced at Rs 14,499 and Rs 16,499, respectively.
The smartphone will be available in Awesome Blue, Amazing Purple, and Ace Black colour options, with sales starting April 3 via Xiaomi’s official website, Flipkart, and offline retail stores.
