UFC fighter Allan Nascimento found dead at home; UFC says he suffered heart attack

Las Vegas: Brazilian UFC flyweight Allan Nascimento has died after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced on Monday. He was 34.

Nascimento was found unresponsive at his home on Monday morning. Despite efforts by emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, the UFC said, “This morning, Monday, August 3, our beloved fighter and exemplary flyweight Allan Nascimento was found unresponsive after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep.”

The organisation added, “Despite the efforts of the responding medical team, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Expressing condolences, the UFC further said, “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Allan’s family, friends, team-mates, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”

Nascimento last competed in June, when he lost to Mitch Raposo by split decision at UFC Vegas 119 in Las Vegas. He finished his professional mixed martial arts career with 22 wins and seven losses.

A native of Brazil, Nascimento began his MMA career in 2011 and compiled a 17-4 record before appearing on Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Although he lost a split decision to Raulian Paiva, he earned a UFC contract in 2021.

During his UFC career, Nascimento secured victories over Cody Durden, Jafel Filho, Carlos Hernandez and Jake Hadley, while suffering defeats to Tagir Ulanbekov and Mitch Raposo. He also earned two Performance of the Night bonuses.

Nascimento represented the Chute Boxe Diego Lima team in São Paulo and trained alongside former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira.
