THIS Indian city likely to host Commonwealth Games 2030; Final call on November 26

New Delhi: The Executive Board of Commonwealth Sport has officially recommended Ahmedabad as the host city for the 2030 Commonwealth Games. The final decision will be made during the organisation's General Assembly in Glasgow on November 26.
India’s bid, centred around Ahmedabad in Gujarat, was chosen over Nigeria, the other serious contender. However, the Executive Board expressed interest in Africa's growing sporting potential and will work with Nigeria to enhance its prospects for hosting future editions, including the 2034 Games.
“The Executive Board of Commonwealth Sport has today confirmed that it will recommend Ahemedabad, India, as the proposed host city for the 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games,” read a statement issued by Commonwealth Sport.
“Amdavad (also known as Ahmedabad, in the Indian state of Gujarat), will now be put forward to the full Commonwealth Sport membership, with the final decision taking place at the Commonwealth Sport General Assembly in Glasgow on 26 November,” it added.
India previously hosted the Games in 2010, in the national capital, New Delhi.
