Mathrubhumi gold medal for star athletes M. Jyothika and J. Bijoy

Kunnamkulam: The Mathrubhumi gold medal for this year's state school sports meet goes to M. Jyothika and J. Bijoy. The winners were selected by a jury comprising renowned sports trainers, Dr George Emmanuel, Jimmy Joseph and Captain Ajithmon. 

The medals were presented by minister K. Radhakrishnan. Jyothika secured gold for senior 400, 400 meter hurdles and 200 meters. Daughter of G. Manikandan and P.R Saritha, Jyothika is a student of Parali high school. P.G Manoj is her coach.

J. Bijoy clinched the gold in senior 1500, 3000, 800 meter races. He is the star student of Chittor GHS and the son of Jayashankar and Reena. He is coached by M Aravindakshan.
