Indian judoka Arun Kumar pulled from Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games following doping failure

New Delhi: Indian judoka Arun Kumar has been pulled from the upcoming Glasgow Commonwealth Games following a positive result in an out-of-competition doping screening.

Arun, who fights in the -73kg division and recently participated in the Qingdao Grand Prix last month, has received a provisional suspension from the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA).

"The notification for suspension has come. We have to withdraw him," an informed source within the federation disclosed to the Press Trust of India.

India had initially cleared a squad of 14 judokas, split evenly with seven men and seven women. With this latest development, the country's total delegation size for the Games has dropped to 124.

The national judo team has not yet departed for Glasgow, with their respective events scheduled to get underway on July 31.
