Rafael Nadal has issued a warning about fake online videos that use artificial intelligence to impersonate him and promote financial advice.

The recently retired tennis champion said on Tuesday that he has never supported or endorsed such videos.

“This is a message of caution — something unusual for my social media, but necessary,” Nadal wrote on LinkedIn.

According to him, he and his team have identified several manipulated videos circulating on various platforms.

These clips, created with AI, mimic his face and voice while falsely attributing investment tips and proposals to him. Nadal stressed that these were “misleading advertisements” with no connection to him.

He added that society now faces the challenge of separating authentic content from manipulated material, while also encouraging “an ethical and responsible use of technology.”

“Innovation is always positive when it serves people, but we must remain aware of its risks and act with critical thinking,” he wrote.

The 22-time Grand Slam winner said artificial intelligence holds “enormous potential” in fields like education, medicine, sports, and communication.

However, he warned that it can also be exploited to spread fake content that confuses and deceives people.
