Kerala Blasters move international court against AIFF disciplinary action

Kochi: Kerala Blasters have filed a complaint with the International Court of Arbitration to challenge the disciplinary measures imposed on them by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The club opted for this unexpected move in response to the fine and penalties imposed on them following their walkout during a football match with Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) previous season. AIFF had imposed Rs 4 crore fine and demanded public apology for the action of the team. Coach Ivan Vukomanovic had expressed his apologies.
The Court of Arbitration, renowned for its expertise in resolving sports disputes at the international level, has granted a two-week extension to Kerala Blasters for the submission of relevant documents related to the case. Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Court of Arbitration serves as a leading global institution for sports-related conflict resolution.
Prior to approaching the International Court, Kerala Blasters appealed against the initial fine imposed by the AIFF's disciplinary committee. However, it was rejected.
