Kollam Sailors take on Calicut Globstars in KCL Season 2 opener at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram: The second season of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) is set to launch this Thursday at the Greenfield Stadium, Karyavattom, with six teams contesting the coveted Twenty20 tournament.

Opening Fixtures and Format

The opening match at 2:30 pm will see reigning champions Aries Kollam Sailors take on runners-up Calicut Globstars.

The second match under the floodlights commences at 6:45 pm, with the Trivandrum Royals facing the Kochi Blue Tigers, who have Indian cricketer Sanju Samson in their lineup.

Each team will compete against every other team twice during the league stage, culminating in a total of 33 matches, including the final scheduled for September 7, 2025.

Star-Studded Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony will be graced by Mohanlal, the league’s brand ambassador, while Sanju Samson adds to the excitement by turning out for the Kochi Blue Tigers.

Players and Auction Highlights

A total of 120 players, selected via a talent hunt, are distributed across the six franchises.

The franchises competing for glory are Trivandrum Royals, Aries Kollam Sailors, Calicut Globstars, Thrissur Titans, Kochi Blue Tigers, Alleppey Ripples.
