Indian cricketer Sajana Sajeevan, hailing from Wayanad in Kerala, recently revealed how Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan offered help to her when her entire family was battered by the devastating Kerala floods of 2018.

In an interview with ESPN CricInfo, Sajana spoke about her experience during the 2018 floods. "During the catastrophic floods in 2018, everything we had painstakingly accumulated up until that point was washed away. My cricket kit, trophies, and even my home were lost to the floodwaters. This left me in a position where I had to start from scratch. It was at this time that actor Sivakarthikeyan reached out with a helping hand," Sajana shared.

To the unversed, Sajana had worked with Sivakarthikeyan in the sports drama film Kanaa, where she portrayed a cricketer. It was through their collaboration in the film that their bond developed, leading to Sivakarthikeyan’s call for help when the floods hit.

A week later, new spikes arrived

"Sivakarthikeyan sir called me and asked if I needed any help. I told him that my cricket kit had been lost, and I needed new spikes. Within a week, I received a brand-new pair. At the time, I was supposed to be going for the Challenger Trophy, and everyone supported me and encouraged me through it. They made efforts to assist me and make things easier," Sajana explained.

In the interview, the star cricketer also recalled the support of her school PT teacher, Elsamma Baby, who introduced her to the sport. "I saw it as a way to earn a small income to help support my family," Sajana revealed.

Since her revelation, both cricket and cinema fans have been showering praises on Sivakarthikeyan for his noble gesture.
