Karachi: Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana recorded the fastest half-century in women's T20 International history on Friday during the third and final match of a series against Zimbabwe at the National Stadium.

Sana reached the 50-run milestone in just 15 deliveries and concluded her innings unbeaten at 62 runs off 19 balls. Her explosive performance propelled Pakistan to a total of 223-4 in their allotted 20 overs. The host nation secured a commanding 133-run victory to sweep the T20I series 3-0, mirroring their identical margin of victory in the preceding One-Day International series.

The previous international record was held by New Zealand's Sophie Devine, who achieved an 18-ball half-century against India in Bengaluru in 2015. Domestically, the benchmark for the fastest T20I fifty by a Pakistani woman belonged to Nida Dar, who accomplished the feat in 20 balls against South Africa in Benoni in 2019.
