Pakistan didn't deserve to reach Super 8: Mohammad Kaif

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif criticized Pakistan's exit from the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024, attributing it to their poor performance and crucial mistakes. USA secured a spot in the Super Eights after their match against Ireland was washed out, leading to both teams earning a point each and eliminating Pakistan from the competition.

"It's a significant upset. Despite reaching the final last time, Pakistan faltered this year. Their batting failed under pressure, exemplified by Mohammad Amir's costly Super Over with wides," Kaif remarked on Star Sports.

Kaif highlighted the struggles of Pakistan's top batsmen, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who failed to find form, while Iftikhar Ahmed's bat also failed when needed most.

"Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan struggled, scoring at a run-a-ball pace. Pakistan made numerous errors and ultimately paid the price. They simply didn't merit a place in the Super Eights this tournament," the 43-year-old added.

Pakistan's next match is against Ireland in the group stage at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida, on Sunday. Agencies
