Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader V D Satheesan described the election verdict as a significant setback for the LDF government. He emphasised that the results underscore the public's discontent with the state government, highlighting the UDF's effectiveness in highlighting the issues and policies perceived as detrimental to the public.

“Admitting that the LDF could not achieve the expected victory in Kerala, the Chief Minister is tight-lipped about the reasons. The Chief Minister is not ready to come in front of the media or face questions. During the election campaign, the Chief Minister tried to abuse Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, and stir up communalism by spreading false propaganda,” he said.

Satheesan remarked that the election outcome dealt a severe blow to the Chief Minister's campaign for a Congress-free Kerala like the BJP.

“Pinarayi Vijayan is also the mastermind of giving Thrissur a seat to the BJP to freeze investigations by central agencies. The concern expressed by the UDF even before the elections has now come true. There was widespread vote leakage in CPM strongholds in Thrissur. This election saw an overt CPM-BJP deal rather than a secret understanding,” he claimed.
