LS Polls: Most number of Expatriate voters belong to Kozhikode

Kozhikode: The largest number of expatriate voters in the state belong to Kozhikode. There are 35,793 non-resident voters in the district. Out of this, 34,002 are male, 1787 are female, and four are transgender. Kozhikode is one of the districts with the highest number of transgender voters. Out of 48 people, 26 are from Kozhikode constituency and 22 from Vadakara. 23 people belong to the age group between 20-29. Thiruvananthapuram has the highest number of transgender voters (94).

There are a total of 28,51,514 voters in the district. 14,21,883 voters are from Kozhikode and 14,29,631 from Vadakara. Of this, the number of female voters is 7,40,246 in Vadakara and 7,38,509 in Kozhikode. The number of male voters is 6,81,615 in Vadakara and 6,91,096 in Kozhikode.

There are 5786 service voters in the district. Service voters are members of the Central Security Forces, the Foreign Service, and police officers serving outside the state. Out of 5786, 2877 are from Kozhikode and 2909 from Vadakara. They vote through the Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS). The ballot is sent through the ETPBS portal.

The district has 71,847 maiden voters in the age group of 18–19. Of these, 37,491 are boys, 34,352 are girls, and four are transgender. 294 voters have crossed the age of 100. Out of which, 175 are women and 110 are men. People in the age group 110–119 are also voting this year. 

A total of 13,504 people, including the differently abled and the elderly, voted at home. Out of this, 9360 people are over 85 years old. Chiruthamma (104), a Perambra native, is one of the voters who have voted in every term since being added to the voter list. This year, she voted from her residence.

Of the total number of polling stations, 16 are model polling stations and 52 are pink polling stations with only female officers. Kozhikode district also has polling stations in Wayanad constituency.
