Thiruvananthapuram: After his historic triumph in Thrissur, Suresh Gopi, when asked to comment on his rival candidates in the polls, chose to remain silent. He asked the media to stick to questions related to him.

“See I have not taken the names of my rival candidates even during the campaigns. I have brotherly feelings towards K Muraleedharan. I have not said anything unnecessary against those who stood against me in the elections. Someone like K Muraleedharan has a rich political legacy and I am very much aware of it,” said the newly elected MP.

“Voters are the most important part of a democracy. They are the ones who decide everything. Have not talked to Modi after the results were declared. Right now he is busy with some other meetings. Maybe tomorrow I will meet him. You know cinema is my passion. I will try to strike a balance between my film and political career,” concluded Suresh Gopi.

Meanwhile, after drubbing in LS polls, Congress leader K Muraleedharan had yesterday announced that he won’t contest elections anymore and would stay away from public life for some time.
